Review Topic: K1 Visa

I had my visa interview this week so here some of my experiences:

1. There are to addresses in Vienna. At least the immigrant visas are processed at the "parkring" one.
2. As everyone else said, they don't let you in earlier. I had to wait outside. (Still glad I was early because it took me a little time to find it.)
3. I had a power bank in my bag and could leave it at the reception desk without a problem.
4. One thing I was nervous about where my pictures. I struggled for ages to get them right - walking in the embassy I found they have photo booths there. (American passport photos are a different size than the European standards.
5. Window 5, hand her everything on the checklist, pay at an other window. Talk to the consul.
They were all very nice and I had one missing copy - so we just scaned that and emailed it to them.
6. They don't send the passport and documents to your house. Someone needs to pick it up personally. Luckily it doesn't need to be you. My aunt volunteered since I live 7 hours away.

I was super nervous about it but it was easy and a good atmosphere and not weird at all.
