I had my appointment at 1pm and arrived 20 minutes early, only to find out that they were closed until 1pm. So no point in coming early.
When you come in you have to go through a security check where they check your bags and take all your electronic devices. The security guy tells you what window you need to go to. A nice lady told me to hand her the documents required, then asked me to sit down. 20 minutes later they took my fingerprints, then asked me to sit down again. After that I had to wait 1 1/2 hours on the consular who wasn't in yet. She was very friendly and the interview didn't take long at all, probably 5-10 minutes. She asked about how we plan to manage our financial situation (we are both students). She didn't ask to see any tax returns, w-2 slips or the like, only a bank statement. She also asked for wedding pictures, and it was definitely a bonus that I had other pictures from the times we spent together as well.
After the interview I was told that I will be granted a visa and was asked to sit down again. Half an hour later I had my passport back with the visa sticker in it, and was good to go!
I think Vienna is a pretty good embassy to have your interview at, people are friendly and don't try to give you a hard time.
