This isn't true for the Bangkok embassy. They want anything not in English to be translated. Also, Packet 3 and Packet 4 say nothing about the need for the Thai home registration book being required, but it was requested in our interview. I had my fiancee bring it and everything that they could ever ask for, so we were ok. The actual interview was very quick and they asked only a few easy questions. However, they asked a lot of questions out in the queue and at intake. Practice and prepare. Good Luck!
