"CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR VISA IS APPROVED!"
Appointment Date & Time: August 16, 2016; 6:45a.m.
I was outside the U.S. Embassy at 6:25 and asked the guard right away where to fall in line. He told me to line up in the tent with number "5" for initial entry. There were 1,2,3,4 and 5 line. K1 visa and other immigrant visa applicants are lined in #5 first. I guess they let the first batch in, that's why we were waiting outside for a couple of minutes.
-6:45 I reached the lady who checks the appointment confirmation page, DS 160 confirmation page and passport. (NOTE: ONLY THE FIRST PAGES OF DS160 and APPT. CONFIRMATION ARE TO BE SUBMITTED AND REMOVE YOUR PASSPORT JACKET) She checked my name and put my barcode sticker (it has my name) at the back of my passport and placed it inside a ziplock and gave them back to me. She then asked me to fall in line to the line 4. This is another line to where we will wait until the next batch will be called to enter the building.
-7:10 They let us in. Security check: this is where your bags and stuff will undergo scanning machine. (RULE 1: NO GADGETS, LUQUIDS OR ANY BATTERY-OPERATED THINGS ARE ALLOWED) and then they told us to proceed to the ticketing booth.
In ticketing booth, I dropped my Passport together with 2 papers in the window's hole and the lady asked me what is my birth date, how many applicants and if I am pregnant (for girls). She the stapled my blessed number and list of documents to be prepared for the interview in my DS 160 page (see the picture posted). She told me to enter the next building through Door 2 and proceed to Window 38. **This is where another security check is waiting for you** The girls who are wearing green polo shirts who are masusungit and not smiling were there to assist everyone. After 2nd security check, one green girl told me to prepare my NVC letter and she also got my appointment letter and didn't return it back anymore. :D She then asked me to wait when the window 35 or 36 gets available. a minute of wait, I went to the window 36 and a filipino man asked for my passport and DS 160 and checked everything. He asked what is my Full name, Birth date and my Fiance's address in the US. He gave it back to me and told me to proceed to Fingerprint Scanning.
7:25 An american lady assist me for this step and she checked my number, asked what is my fullname and birthdate and it took just a minute to finish it and she then told me to go to 2C which means Step 2 section C (section C is where the prescreening, oathtaking and final interview will be held.) Another green girl assisted me to wait for a window to be available for prescreening.
7:30 At window 55 a man which is I think in his 50's asked for my passport and DS 160 page. He then asked me if I have my medical results (brown envelop) and I handed it to him. He was a nice man, he smiled and very accommodating. He was checking our I-129F Packet that is placed in a pink folder and was also looking at the computer typing and checking the details. He then said me and my fiance look good together. Here are the questions that he asked:
-How and when did you meet?
-What state are you going to?
-Are you single? Never been married? Did you have a child?
-Is your fiance single? Never been married? Does he have a child?
Documents that were asked:
-Visa Receipt
-NBI Clearance
-NSO/PSA Birth Certificate
-NSO/PSA CENOMAR
YES! That's it! He didn't ask for Affidavit of Support, ITR, and W2. I asked him why. He said that they simply don't ask for it anymore. I was like WHAAAAT? I am not sure if he meant it though. But just to be sure, it's always better to be ready and prepared than to NGANGA. haha! Done at prescreening for like 3-5 minutes I guess. The green girl then assisted me to the line for oathtaking.
*AS YOU CAN SEE, FROM THE START TO PRESCREENING, IT WAS SMOOTH AND FAST. 7:10 - 7:730 all those steps were accomplished. Let me tell you why and what did I observe.
QUEUE SCREENS ARE **OFF** I AM NOT SURE IF THEY ARE NOT WORKING OR THEY JUST REALLY DID IT IN PURPOSE. NOBODY KNOWS. So throughout the process, we were just lining up. the good thing there is that we get to know if we are next, and we dont have to be tired looking at the screens while waiting for our number to be flashed randomly. Which is waaaaaaay easier! It is well organized even if the screens are shut off. It was fast and smooth until..
The line for oathtaking starts :D Don't worry there are chairs and the green girls will ask you where to sit (next to the last person in the line) There was only 1 window open for the oathtaking. That was an american consul. The greengirl then asked another next 5 applicants to line up and wait for our turn. When I was next, another window was opened and I was placed there.
8:00 OATHTAKING with American CO. I raised my right hand and asked: "Do you blah blah blah....." and after saying yes, he asked me to place my 4 right fingers to the fingerprint scanner. He then told me to proceed to Step 4 which is the Final INterview. The green girl asked me to sit again for Interview line.
9:25 The time has come, I was in window 61 with an American CO lady showed her my number through the window (yeah because i told you the screens are off so we did it manually lol) We exchanged How Are You's and these are the questions that she asked me:
-How and when did you meet?
-When did he visit you? How many times did he visit you? When did he come back to America?
-Are you sure you're going to marry him?
-How old is he? and you? (He's 21 and I'm 22)
-Isn't he too young?
-What is his job?
-What do you do?
Okay. "CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR VISA IS APPROVED!" -- "You will receive your visa within 10 days and you can go home now."
She gave me the "Information on the legal rights available to immigrant victims of domestic violence in the US and Facts about immigrating on a marriage-based visa" (in tagalog) Pamphlet and a small sheet of paper which has the instructions on how to register our delivery address online.
*She didn't even ask for my evidence of relationship photos and print outs.*
9:27 Interview done! Yes, 2 minutes of interview. :D Praise Father Jesus!
9:30 Out :D
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY! I love you so much Benjamin McCay my God's best. Congratulations to us! Getting married soon yay!! <3
NOTE: If the consul told you to go home, you dont have to proceed to STEP 5 - Releasing. That is where the denied applicants or with 221g goes after their interview.
7:10 to 9:30 Not bad huh? I think the queue screen procedure is slower and really tough. In my experience without it, and with just a manual line? It was fast and you don't have to pay attention to the numbers flashing which is such a pain in the eyes and the neck.
Good luck and God bless to everyone! Just be honest, confident and always pray. <3 To God be the glory!
