Review Topic: K1 Visa

Our interview was last tuesday Sep 4th. My Scott came for the interview and we were at the embassy at 7am (our appointment was for 8am).
We were standing in line and we met another American/Peruvian couple, Lindsey and Jorge. We contacted each other through Visa JOurney, so it was really cool!
As soon as we got into the embassy, we were called to a window to show some documents:
1. Forms 156 (2 copies w/pic)
2. 156K
3. Banco Continental payment ticket
4. Certificados Policiales (u must get them at Aramburu Office in Lima)
5. Certficado de antecedentes penales
6. Certificado de antecedentes judciales
7. Affidavit of support (and the supporting documents for it)
8. Scott's Tax returns (they checked 2004, 2005 and only kept 2006 with them)
9. Pictures (we made a nice file with pictures so it could pass under the window frame)
10. Other evidences (another file with plane tickets, e-mails, letters, phone records, etc)

The woman there asked some questions: where did u meet? How many times was Scott in Peru?, Have you been to US before? When? Why?

After that they asked us to wait for the next call. I guess 30-40 minutes later, they called us from window 9 (btw we saw the fam,ous room 15 but didnt get into that one). At window 9, there were two officers who took my finmger prints and asked the following questions:
Do you speak Spanish? (to Scott)
Do you speak English? (to Kemerly)
How do you communicate onea another: English or Spanish? (to Kemerly)
How long have you known each other? (to Kemerly)
When did you meet? Where? How? (to Kemerly)
How many times has Scott been to Peru? (to Kemerly)
Tell us about your love story... (to Kemerly)
What's your occupation? (to Scott)
How much do you earn? (to Scott)
Does your family know her? What do they think about her? (to Scott)

She was then looking at the pictures and I spontaneously was exlaining her the pictures, the places we visited and stuff like that. After the man asked for Scott's family opinion about me, I took the iniciative to tell them how I met his mother... I guess I spoke too much...lol... I was really nervous and the officers noticed it cause they were smiling while I was answering or tellingf them our story.

Finally, the man signed up some forms and gave me a pink ticket to pay at DHL the fee for the Visa delivery.

I asked if I got the Visa... they said: Of course, you did a good job! Welcometo US!

Well...that was all folks... Good luck to everyone and have ur documents ready and organized and just tell everythingsincerely and spontaneously...

They were really friendly with us...

Kemerlita and Scott
