Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
We first got an interview date of 04/04/2016. Back in April, I attended but was not let in so waited outside. They took his visa payment, his DS-160 sheet, medical and passport pictures. Once my fiance got to the window, he was immediately rescheduled to June 9, 2016 and was told it was because of some type of emergency.
On the June 9th date, he went through the normal processing and turned in all his evidence that remained such as our pictures together and chat logs and tax docs. Once in front of the counselor, she asked him all the questions in the book from how we met to schools I had attended to what we have in common and so forth. My fiance answered as the counselor nodded her head and typed on the computer. He had mentioned that she was not smiling but he kept a nice expression either way. She really grilled him and made sure he was knowledgable about me his fiance. After the questioning, she stated he would still need to come back and gave him a temp denial form (with nothing ticked off) and all his evidence provided. She put a side note that he would need his fingerprinting done over and a new oath.
Glory be to God... when he went for his third interview date of July 19, 2016, he was fingerprinted again and asked to do a new oath and after that was congratulated and told to come back in two weeks for his visa. God is so good. Just glad this part is over and we will finally be together.
Some Advice: read previous post and learn from past mistakes. Also not all couples can go for the k-1 and be successful. If you have too many red flags sometimes being married and for some time, with a lot of lengthy visits is the only way to show a true commitment. Also evidence matters but the biggest convincing will occur at the interview. Dont get nervous and if you know you all are real make sure your answers showcase this. The little stuff matters here at the Ghana consulate and they can be pretty shallow and petty but its partly because of the amount of fraud coming through with people paying, or lying to bring family members, or even worst, people who are opportunist trying to make it to America and also because they feel they have the power to. be mindful and vigilant and above all believe that God can make a way through anything.
