Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview was on May 16th at 1pm. We arrived early and were the first ones in the waiting area. Then had to wait 2 hours and 47 minutes, because everyone was scheduled at the same time and they randomly selected people. We ended up being second to last to be called into the office. No such things as first come, first serve alright. Which was kind of odd and illogical!
The IO was rude. She for some reason ignored me and only asked my Husband questions, documents and evidence and what not. Every time I wanted to say something directly to her, she barely reacted or just smiled. You'd think it was because my English is poor or I have an accent or something, but I am bilingual so I doubt that was the issue. I really don't know why she acted the way she did... very strange! I kept a straight face, did not want to cause any unnecessary issues. But still. Sigh.
Anyway, she did not have any of our sent in paperwork with her. Good thing we brought our own copies, everything requested on the interview letter, evidence of bona fide marriage and a bunch of pictures.
She briefly looked over our most recent tax return and then just bluntly said that we, and I quote "Barely have any proof of having a life together". What... So we showed her more pictures, Christmas cards, gym memberships, just miscellaneous things. For some reason she decided to take 3 pictures out of the pile, one of us playing Monopoly with friends, a posed wedding picture and a picture of my Husband with his best man's daughter (got asked if she was our kid, said no and explained who she is). Very random, for sure that last one! But eh well, whatcha gonna do.
The whole interview lasted maybe 10 minutes, could've been even less. She did not approve us on the spot, said she had to think it over; that her decision would depend on how she feels about the case. Husband asked her carefully how she felt right now. She looked at him funny and mumbled "Okay, I guess." Then ushered us out the door. And that was it. No further explanation or information. We had no clue what going to happen, we weren't even sure if we said or did anything wrong or if that's just how interviews go, or really if that was just her personality and her own way of working.
I called USCIS the day after, explaining how our interview went and they said that she should've been more clear about her decision but that nothing was updated about the case yet. That we have to just wait and check the case status daily, that it could take 2 weeks or even 6 months to be approved or denied. Of course that didn't make us feel better!
But today, May 20th the USCIS website finally updated! The case got approved (an approval notice will be sent) on May 17th, so the day after the interview.. I sure wish they updated it then and not days later!

Overall, not the best experience. But at this point we're just happy we're approved! Now to wait on the notice and eventually the actual green card.
