Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

During our interview process we waited outside in line with about 40 other couples who had appointments that day. They called us by appointment time and we had to stand up in another line to go through the metal detector. When our turn came and they saw I had a U.S Passport in my hand they made me skip everyone and leave my husband behind so I could go in first. My husband came through 5 minutes later and we had to put his watch and cellphone in a locker before we entered. We waited about 2.5 hours to be called (we were basically almost last). We had a woman who interviewed us. She was being really difficult with me as she refused to believe I was married to my husband out of love. She tried to make it feel like it was an arrange marriage. She asked me how long we would talk on the phone and how many times and I told her for hours and 3 times a day. Before we went to work, on my lunch break, when I came home, and before we went to bed. We also use to skype and talk to each other everynight. She asked me for photos. So I gave them to her and she flipped through it. She still didn't believe us. She asked me how long we were married for, how did we meet, what religion am I, how did we marry, where I stay when I come, etc. I gave her all the answers and she was not satisfied. I had a huge binder full of things I saved, like cards and tickets and receipts from things we did together. I saved everything! She still didn't ask my husband a question even though it was his interview! Then she looked through documents and wrote some stuff down and I was like listen I talk to him everyday for the past year and a half and I pulled out a 10lb stack of phone records and once she saw that she didn't even know what to do and looked at me and said he's approved. And I was like omg really and started crying. Then she goes - why are you in shock? And I'm like because I was worried - then she ask, why were you worried? If you're really married you should be happy. :Insert the curse word I wanted to call her in here: Anyways, I told her this process was long and my anxiety has built up for this day. I was nervous, its human nature. She asked me when I was going back and I said next week and she said okay come back the day before you are leaving. And gave us a paper and we left. I was basically interviewed and my husband whose applying for the visa wasn't even asked a question.
