Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Everything seemed very swift early in the morning,
I got my documents checked by an Indian officer first, who asked me for AOS and Police Certificates, and a random question about my wife (when was she last time in india).. Then the officer gave a paper to read about domestic violence. Was asked to sit down and wait for my token number to come up.

Then the real thing began,

I was one of the first ten people to enter the embassy and get my documents submitted and was given a token number e.g.304, I opted for interview in english so was hoping to get interviewed soon, However that wasnt the case, all the applicants who came after me upto token 351 were interviewed before a few of us (till then I was feeling that maybe i am in trouble)

However, I went up and asked a few people waiting for me since beginning, we all were going to be interview in English (THAT was the reason for us to wait so long for an American officer to come and interview) all the people who opted for interview in regional languages were done within an hour of arriving inside the embassy...

Finally my chance came and it just took a few questions and 4-5 minutes for the visa officer to say "YOUR VISA IS APPROVED"

I was asked,
- how did we meet ?
- was the marriage love or arranged?
- did you read the Domestic violence pamphlet?

so if anyone is going to Mumbai at 7.30am and interview is in english, be ready to wait for 3 hours and dont get nervous, its normal
