Overall this was a very good experience and was super easy as others have said. We arrived about 30 minutes before our scheduled time and were allowed in. Dropped cell phone off downstairs, went thru security and then led upstairs and sat in the middle section as instructed. The view over Montreal from the 19th floor is stunning. When sitting in the middle section you'll notice the group to your left being shuffled around to different chairs and called up in groups which is mildly entertaining for some unknown reason We waited about 15 min to be called to window 2 which was still before our scheduled time. The clerk asked for forms including the updated tax forms. All I brought for taxes was the 2015 info as they already had the 2014 and that was completely acceptable. They took Jason's fingerprints then we sat back down. I went and fumbled with the soda/snack machine for a bit but to no avail. About 25 minutes later Jason got called back for the interview, it lasted about 15 minutes then he came back approved! Once you're done they want you out of there quickly so we left and took some pics on the steps outside for Facebook with huge smiles on our face.. lol All in all a very good experience. The staff there were friendly, place was clean and ample waiting room. No confetti drop or balloons like I imagined when we got approved, but just happy it's done.
We used Hotwire.com and got a 4.5 star hotel for about $100/night. To get around town we used Uber which was REALLY convenient and cheap. Much cheaper than a cab. The status on the CEAC site started updating quickly after the interview and even on a Saturday it changed status. Our interview was on a Friday and today which is a Tuesday, Jason was just notified by email that his passport/visa is ready to be picked up. So overall very happy with the speed and efficiency of Montreal, plus it's a fun city.
