Had my interview 22nd March at 1pm, very quick and very smooth.
Arrived half and hour before to join a very short queue outside the security booth. Had my name checked and ticked off a list and had my interview letter checked before going through airport style security. Once inside I was greeted by a very friendly man who looked at my appointment letter and passport again before giving me a number. I was sitting in the waiting hall from around ten minutes to 1 and shortly after 1pm was called to the first window. A lady asked me for my birth certificate, police certificate, affidavit of support and employment letter. She made small talk about how it was my birthday later that week and was very nice. Took my finger prints from both hands and asked me to sit back down and wait for my number to be called again.
I thought at this point I was in for the long haul as I knew the longer wait would be before the interview but I had literally been sitting for 5 mins before my number was recalled!! I went to another window where there was a very jolly American guy. He asked how I had met my fiancé (through a year abroad at college) and then asked me about their football team mascot and what it meant to me! He then asked what I did for a living at the moment and what my fiancé did. After that he simply said I would receive my passport back within around two weeks and to call my fiancé even if it was the middle of the night over there!! I couldn't quite believe how quick everything was and I had to stand there for a second for it to sink in because he never actually said the words "you're approved"! I said thank you with an elated if surprised expression and left the embassy.
I was in and out within half an hour! Couldn't believe it, and everyone I spoke to was very nice. As long as you are prepared you have nothing to worry about :-)
