We showed up at 6:10 AM, there were 4 people ahead of us. At 06:30 they called immigrant applicants only to line # 3 at a security shack where they check passport, 2 passport photos marked in the back with applicant's name and Interview Letter, security check with body scanner the the guard directed us to continue to a large patio covered by a very toll roof, dress for cold windy weather because there is no walls. There are a bunch of ladies dressed in black, wearing blue jackets that will guide different groups of people.
The one for immigrants directed us to sit near windows 31 to 36, verified my wife's name and interview date and gave my wife a ticket number.
10 minutes later my wife was called to window 31, a real nice blond lady asked my wife for the passport, the two passport pictures and the police certificate. She put the pictures inside a small plastic zip lock bag and stapled the bag to the police certificate and send us to another wait area in the same patio between windows 2 and 6. There we waited about 30 minutes until my wife was called to window 5. The CO asked for the current passport, the photos and the police certificate and the medical sealed envelope. I was very surprised he did not ask for any other documents. (We had all the originals and one copy as directed in the NVC website and the packet 4 instructions).
The CO asked my wife, who was I standing next to her, my place and date of birth, dates of our divorces and when we met.
He made a bunch of computers entries and then asked for the previous expired passports and canceled the tourist B2 visa.
Then he said congratulations and welcome to USA, wait few days for an email with instructions to pickup visa package and passport, and handled my wife the old passports, the instructions to pay the immigrant fee and the pamphlet for victims of domestic violence.
