Long journey, very surreal when got approval.
I did my medical a month before since it was the holiday season, I just wanted to get it outta the way and have everything ready. Seeing the doc was fast and easy, since a couple days prior I reviewed my vacs with my fam doc (asked her write a presciption indicating I took the shot). I saw dr.zatzman he has a website with instructions, very handy. I thought he was friendly and professional.
For my interview, I went a day before to Montrael since my interview was at 9:30 in the morning. My family drove me ... One thing about the driving there - it's crazy! Also it's freezing cold! Everything else is great tho 
Anyway I arrived 9am, didn't have to wait outside. The line was short just 2 people ahead of me and 3 behind me after. Everyone fit in the little area. I was worried I couldn't wear my coat in since I read the whole cannot bring bags, etc. But the security laughed and said coats - ok, big bags, knapsacks - no. I used a thin shopping bag like the reusable ones that can be put in a purse and it was ok. The largest I saw were reusable grocery bags. Some people had medium purses. Many just brought binders, or binder bags with the zipper. One guy had 3 plastic shopping bags. Ok enough about bags lol.
It was a busy day in the consulete lots of people waiting. I was called a hour after my appointment time to hand in some docs, mainly passport, long birth cert and passport photos. Was asked to verify address info and husband address info also wedding date. The lady was going through a checklist of original docs similar to the one on the Montrael consulate doc. Marriage cert, i864, irs tax. she took my finger prints on a scanner and gave me a printout about domestic violence info and told me to wait to be called later.
In about 30min I was called, I had to swear to tell the truth and scan my fingers again. there was a little issue with the scanning as it didn't read well. He was really nice and said that was the only bumpy part. After that everything went real fast.
I was asked:
- have I ever committed a crime/ever been caught/arrested?
- ever stopped at the border?
- how did we meet?
- what does he do for a living?
- which state he lives in?
We joked a bit then he gave me back my birth cert and maybe some other things happened lol (it really felt rushed) and I was passed the welcome to USA papers! I was happy and shocked. The whole process applying was long and just like that it's over. Feels great I guess I won't believe it till I see the passport
Also they kept my passport I forgot if they keep it and give it to me back later.
Left the consulate at 11:30
