Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
The past few weeks, I've been visiting this particular thread to seek solace and comfort for my upcoming interview. It may be helpful if I also added my experience.
First of all, it was totally nerve wracking but I talked to other filipinas with K1 applications so I can redirect and distract myself from becoming too anxious. It was fast, no hassles except for me shaking when I handed over my documents because I was super duper worried about my I134 and tax transcripts because they said that it should be original with wet signature and I only had a scanned copy.
At the pre-screening, they only asked for the NBI, CENOMAR, Birth certificate and MRV slip.
When I got there, I was surprised and afraid because the consul who denied my application for tourist visa was there and I prayed to God that I hope he will not be my consul! Me and a filipino guy applying for a k1 were just laughing our nervousness off and I was so glad that my consul was the lady that I have been wishing for at window 65. She asked questions, she asked me how old my fiance was and I said he was 25 and I'm 27 - she said, "Oh we never get anything like that!" and we laughed, then she asked me "isn't Florida a place where old people retire?" and I told her, "Well he's kind of an old soul, so I guess it all worked out." She laughed. I was doing my best to be light and charming and she approved my visa.
The Documents she asked me were NONE, but she asked for chat logs and pictures!
Visa Approved.
To anyone who has not been interviewed yet, check out MRS. Presson's website for a detailed checklist of what you need to bring. At the interview, be relaxed, be confident about yourself and your relationship and also smile and be charming! It will pay off <3
