Hi. Finally the day comes. My interview was scheduled for 10AM yesterday. I arrived to Montreal at 7:30 am. After driving from Toronto for 6 hours or so. I didn't sleep for 2 days before that since I had to work to cover the day away for the interview.and. I finished work at 8pm then had to go home have a shower. Rent a car and hit the road at about 1.45 am.
I was in a bad shape when I got to Montreal but what kept me standing is the excitement of applying and seeing what a learned from visajourney.
To make the story short I parked for $17 around the corner. This rate is for all day or you pay $5 per half hour!!!!!
I think it's a habit in Montreal!!
However I went for a coffee at Tim horton near by and when it was 9.30 I headed to the consulate and my wife and daughter waited in the car since they weren't allowed in due to high number of people stuffed in the 19th floor.
Friendly security and staff at the door. A lady asked for the app letter and the Loomis confirmation. I was handed a number and went to the 19th floor. It wasn't a slow elevator as some said here,
Sat In the middle with IV applicants till I was called to window 1 at 11.00
A nice guy asked me for the birth cert. Passport. Medical report which he opened and handed me back the xray cd to keep.then he gave me a paper with info about some rights
Then asked for the AOS (which was corrected earlier). Police certificate. Pictures and then he fingerprinted me both hands.and was told to wait.
I sat for 5 minutes then was called to window 7 where I met another nice guy who asked me to read an oath taped on the glass and then was fingerprinted again. he asked me about if I was illegal in the US before or ever been denied entry?. Which I answered no ofcourse.
When did I meet my wife of 13 years and if I was married before and if I had children from any previous marriages, and the same about my wife.
Then he handed me the magic welcom to the USA paper through the opened bottom of the glass and said welcome to the United states, your visa is approved and should arrive within 2 weeks with instruction and a (do not open) package through Loomis.
In total the interview took about 5 minutes but the wait and travelling is what took a long time and effort.
I was back to Toronto same day at night and now im back to work . You wouldnt emagin how tierd I am.
Great experience and it was worth every second of it.
Good luck to all waiting
