The Consulate was crowded with both NON IMMIGRANT AND IMMIGRANT VISA applicants.We were made to sit for more than 3 hrs and they finished the NON IMMIGRANT VISA Interviews first.There were three counters for the IMMIGRANT VISA 20,21 and 23.A white American woman with black hairs(very sweet and seemed nice)at window no 20.An Indian woman with short hairs and brown complexion(seemed pretty serious and strict)at window number 21 and two women,one Indian and one American at window 23.I was praying to god to get me that white American with black hairs lady because she seemed very courteous and nice while talking but my token number came on the middle one with the most serious and strict CO who wasn't smiling at all and seemed Intimidating and I was like oh god! I am done!,there's no way shes gonna issue a visa to me.
The Interview went very well and the CO took hardly 5 minutes to approve.She asked only two questions:-
1-What are you Wedding Plans?
2-Who will be attending the Wedding from your family?
I answered both the questions with confidence and explained to her everything in detail and while explaining reached for my thick file folder with more than 700 pages of various documents and she said "don't touch it".I stopped and started speaking again.Afterwards she typed something and my heart sank thinking that I wouldn't get a chance to show the proofs and evidences which took me hundreds of hours to prepare and collect and I actually thought of a 221g is on the way but thankfully the golden words came out from her mouth"Congratulations,your visa has been approved,enjoy America".I was like stunned and I felt like if I am dreaming.I didn't sleep for 48 hrs before the Interview as I was way too anxious after reading reviews about the "DRAGON LADY"(Chinese looking woman at the NWD.BTW that most dreaded Chinese looking woman was not there at all.
Please be confident while speaking and READ THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PAPER THOROUGHLY.I wish everyone best of luck and success at the Interview.
