Just wanna share my october 8 usem interview experience. hope this could help you guys!
Arrive 4am for 730 appointment, i was number 3rd on the k1 line (not advisable to go early) i think 6am is ideal just an opinion. paid 30 pesos for the chair.
they started to instruct us to line up and prepare DS-160 (1st page only), Appointment Confirmation (1st page only) and passport.
they will place your passport in a sealable plastic and ask you to go through security check.
line up again, prepare ds-160 and appointment confirmation, they will give you a number stapled on ds-160 and instruct you to drop the appointment confirmation on a specific window # but orange girls will be there in the entrance to take it.
we wait outside, while the orange shirt girls are calling your number by batch.
and its not in ascending order! they skip some numbers because they rely on the ending numbers. For example your number is #6009 your ending number is 9. and you belong to batch 7,8,9. (this is just what i observe on the process inside so im not confirming it)
when my number was called.
we were ask to proceed inside and start the STEP 1
STEP 1: Ask name and birthdate then FINGER SCANNING.
I was instructed to go to step 2 letter C. You will notice theres a signage (LETTER C, ENGING NUMBERS 7,8,9)
Note: pls. take note of your ending number if you are assigned on the correct letter. i encounter one lady which is assign to the wrong line, so double check your end number to save time.
STEP 2: PRE-SCREENING
i was lucky enough to have this very nice filipino consul, we speak filipino all throughout our conversation. he ask the following documents from me.
-MRV Slip
-NBI
-CENOMAR
-BIRTH CERTIFICATE
-AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT
-ITR/W2
STEP 3: OATH TAKING (American consul)
just ask to raise your right hand and ask to recite the oath posted on the window. Give your DS-160 and right hand (4 fingers only) scanning again.
STEP 4: INTERVIEW (ASIAN-AMERICAN CONSUL)
Questions she asked me are as follows;
1. What is my name?
2. When is my Birthday?
3. What is my Petitioners Name?
4. How many times he visit me?
5. Do you have any photos? Ans. Yes
6. What is your favorite photo?
7. Why is it your favorite? Ans. Because it is our first picture together and our first meeting
8. What is your second favorite picture? Ans. (i showed her ) my family picture with him
9. Whom you would call in case of emergency? Ans. 911
asian-american Consul: Ok, your visa is approved, proceed to step 5.
i replied with a very happy: Thank you!
In step 5, the filipino staff just said all is well, you can go home. you can receive your VISA 7-10 business days!
Note: some american consul after interview instruct you to go home and just wait for your visa once approved and no need to go to step 5. Though some requires you to go to step 5 still even you dont lack any documents, either way just follow them.
