Arrived at 8am for a 9am interview, was pulled out of the long sign in queue (along with all other immigrant visa hopefuls)almost immediately and sent straight into the security check booth.
Given a personal number at reception and then sent into the waiting room to wait for my number to be called, which took over an hour before the screen at the front of the waiting room pinged up my number, 9.40am. Clerk at the window took my fingerprints, passport and all original documents requested then sent me back to the waiting room to await call for interview.
Somewhere around 10.20 - 10.30 my number was called again and the woman at the window checked my fingerprints and then asked me to take an oath for truth. he questioned me on how I met my wife, what she does for a living, what I plan to do for work, who lives in the same household, what do they do and then asked for a few details about his college. She then said my visa was approved, any more questions and that was it!
Overall a very simple process, with friendly staff. There were quite a lot of other hopefuls there but very few immigrant visa applicants (I noticed the numbers went up to 25 whilst I was there).
The only thing I did note was that there was little provision for those with babies and that parents were asked to sit on the end of seat rows with their pushchairs by them - it might have been better to have a space where they could be parked, G4S security did not want people standing up in the only space that was an obvious spot to leave pushchairs.
