Review Topic: K1 Visa

Everything went very smoothly. Roberto completed the ACS portion in Guadalajara a week before the interview. We stayed at Hotel Conquistador Inn. Clean and friendly, and full of people in the visa process. We were able to check in early--at about 10:00 AM. He had his medical exam en Servicios Medicos de la Frontera. As it happened mid-week, there were almost no other applicants at the medical. He was done within an hour. Interview was scheduled for a Friday at 7:45. We arrived at 7:15. Not much of a line. Process was very smooth inside the consulate: easy to submit the required documents. Consular official asked to see I-134 and the police report, nothing more (although he had a ton of documentation.) Official asked how we met, where I live, if he had been arrested, what language we speak, if he speaks English (he doesn't, but is planning on learning.) That's it. We were having breakfast at 10:20!

Roberto picked up his visa at the DHL office in downtown Zapopan, Jalisco today. It arrived at the office yesterday afternoon. So, it took five days (three working days)for the visa to be delivered from Juarez.
