Hello! We were approved on July 15. Our original interview was scheduled for July 7, but the embassy was closed due to technical issues. They automatically rescheduled our interview for July 28. After a week of emailing the embassy to reschedule our interview for an earlier date as I had travelled to the country specifically to go to the interview, we were told to go Wednesday July 15 at 7am.
We stayed at the Micro Hotel Condo Suites and walked to the embassy at 615. We arrived and waited in line until about 650 and were let inside. We got our number and sat down. We were called up to the window to present our appointment letter. They looked in the computer and said our interview was the 28th. I showed the email stating we could go on the 15th. The woman got our file (it was in a bright pink folder, I don't know if that's normal of not). My fiancé gave her the birth certificate, medical and police certificate. We then sat down again. The man who was announcing the numbers called my fiances name and asked for the receipt for paying the DS160 (all of our information was deleted from traveldocs after the technical issue).
I noticed another woman looking at our folder and poked my fiancé in the side. "We're next!" She took out the original photos I had sent with the petition. We went to the window she asked which language we would like. I said English and my fiancé responded in English that he preferred Spanish. We were sworn in. My fiancé had to give his fingerprints. She asked me the questions first.
How did you meet? When? Where? Who introduced you? What was his job?
How many times have you been here? What did you do here? What's his mom's name?
What is your husbands job now? I said "he's not my husband yet but...."
She looked at the pictures and said "is this you?" When we first met my hair was in a pixie and it's grown very long since haha.
Then she asked him the same questions:
How did you meet? When? Where?
What was she doing in the DR?
Then she said "your visa has been approved!"
We were back at the hotel eating breakfast by 845.
