Embassy process is very good. The medical appointment you are required to go to and the doctors who do your appointment are the problem. There are 4 doctors one female doctor. They charge ridiculous sums of money for the appointments and you can be assured that you will need additional vaccinations at $75.00 USD each. My wife was told they thought they saw a spot on her lung and her medical paperwork did not get signed because of that. Her films of the xray where they made this determination where never shown to her and this set us pack 60 days because we had to go to another set of 3 consecutive days of medical lab tests and another $300 USD worth of medical fees. My wife had to travel 4 hours to get to Bogota from her city ...stay in a hotel for 3 days, pay for transportation back and forth to her appointments and have her mother help watch our 3 year old son during the time she had to do the tests. After she was told something was wrong on her first medical exam when she got back we had her go to her family doctor and they gave her the same check up and could not find anything wrong. Those doctors are charging people for shots and medical exams they do not need for purely financial gain. I wrote this Embassy to U.S. Citizen services about it and have had no response from my email. My wife completed her 3 days of test today and told me everyday she ran into countless people who were frustrated going through the same thing. If anyone else has experienced this sort of thing during their medical appointments please write something so we have facts to take to the State Department so they can investigate into this matter. These doctors are committing fraud and making tons of money illegally.
