Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My appointment was at 1.00pm and there were about 5-6 people for immigrant visa's with the same time slot and a couple more to collect their passports from an earlier interview date. Being on time or maybe around 10- 15 minutes early seemed the best as they only allowed everyone in around 1.10pm. Was directed to a seating room where 2 Sri Lankan ladies behind glass windows call you one by one which is where you need to hand over your passport, medical, original documents and the photocopies requested and do the finger scan. You are required to remain seated until everyone goes thru this process and also till after the stamped passports are given back to those who had come to collect them.

Only after did they call for interviews. I was called into a small room and my Interviewer behind glass window was either a SL or an Indian lady by the looks of it and the whole thing lasted about 5-10 minutes. * How long my husband has been in the US * Where he works * Whether he lives on his own * Where and when we met * When we got married * Reason for the time gap between the registration and wedding * Where I work * Whether my husband has relatives in the US * Whether we have travelled out of the country together * How often he visits SL... etc. She then asked if I have the wedding pictures and I gave her my file that had all the pictures. She glanced through and said that everything looks good and I asked her whether that means it's approved and she said yes and gave me a yellow colored paper that states it's approved and gives the date and time for collection of the passport.
