Well not too bad for an interview... 5 mins to hand in the documents. Wait 3 hours then have the interview.... unfortunately being a New Zealander, I had to send a form (with the DS 230) for them to send to NZ for my police check (NZ does not issue police cert) this was not back on the day of my interview but they requested a follow up that day. So I did not get my visa issued.

Did not have the dragon lady, but a really lovely young lady who was very polite and we noticed that alot of people were being called back alot to check over their documents.... BE PREPARED!!
Affidavit of Support seemed to be the most problematic with most people (there on the day). Not enough documentation or asset based without supporting documents.

Cons Off was very nice and asked very few questions really but with James and myself answering at the same time problably helped LOL
Actually the cons off looked a bit sad when he issued my 221g and did make sure to tell us that he just couldnt issue the visa yet... until the extra cert from NZ arrived but that was all... I was devasted thinking of another seperation but James was great... and managed to at least ask the right questions while I was still fixated on .. "not getting visa"

The next day we decided to go sightseeing around Sydney and saw the harbour bridge and opera house and then walked up to Govt house... Here we received a call from the embassy saying they had received the paperwork from NZ and if I would like to drop my passport back to the embassy they would issue my visa at 3.30 that afternoon. Took us 15 mins to run from Govt house to our hotel on Philips St (to change) and get to the Embassy.

Back at 3.30 in the afternoon, 2 other people were there to pick up their visas... K1 and IR1... They had only finished interviews 1/2 hour before so were running late... the other 2 got their visas then I was called o the counter and low and behold.... their printer broke down and could I please ph back in the morning and they will let me know if it is ready...

So James, myself, Vic (k1) and Wendy (IR1) went for a drink out in front of the embassy.

Picked up the passport finally the next morning and looked in my brand spanking new passport to see... a stamp accross it saying "cancelled without predujice"
Stun look....
then I turned the page and there was another one... a good one...
Checked the first cancelled one and it was for an IR1 visa... DAMN they picked it up and I could have gotten really really lucky!!!
Oh well.... I have my K3 and am leaving with James on Monday...
