I was approved May 28th 2015 at the consulate at my interview. We stayed at a hotel in the east of montreal on a hotwire deal as we were staying for 3 days.

After following all the guides it was seamless and smooth process.

I was second in line at 7 am for my 8 am appointment. I lined up towards the yellow posts and garage; and thank goodness i did. Everyone on the opposite side was sent to the back of the line which was at least 80 people by 7:30 am. I let the young guy interviewing for his fiance visa that was there before me in even though I was first in line on the correct side - so i received a applicant 2 laminated ticket.

The lady asked to see the p4 interview letter and the loomis delivery confirmation letter then let me in. She was quite nice.

Quick security check and I checked in my cell phone.

I sat right by the elevator - which now doesn't matter as they go in order of the tickets when the guard sends you up on the elevator. The wait was about 25 minutes.

I was called up to the window to submit my documentation (original copies of marriage, police clearance, birth certificate, medical envelope, 2014 tax forms and the AOS of support letter from my wife from USCIC process)

She quickly went through them all, was quite nice and I was told to sat back down. I was handed the domestic abuse documentation.

I was called up 5 minutes later for my interview at a second glass window. He double checked my documents and asked my future address in the US and my wife phone number. Asked how we met through small talk (at an airport on my way to vegas during a layover). Asked where my wife was and I told him she flew in last night and was at the hotel.

Interview was about 8 minutes long - The gentleman in the glasses was very nice and handed me my welcome the the USA letter. He told me my passport would take 1-2 weeks to be returned to me.

I was out of the consulate by 9:20.

Status still says ready online and I am waiting anxiously as I have a job waiting for me when i cross and would like to get started.

Thank you to all for all the tips - it made a nervous morning much smoother. Make sure you line up on the correct side even if others start on the other side! Have your documents in order and things are smooth.

Good luck to the rest!
