Our appointment was at 7am. We took our 6 mo old daughter and they let us in immediately. Its a very nice campus. After the first entrance you go through security. Then you sit in an outside area. They line you up and let you giving you a number. We waited for about 45 minutes until they called for my husband's documents. They took his medical report and original legalized documents (marriage certificate, police report, birth certificate inextensa), the DS260 confirmation and appointment letter. My husband had brought the extracto birth certificate instead of the inextensa. We got really nervous and the woman said to not worry that we can turn it in when we go to get his passport. The woman gave us a pamphlet about domestic violence and told us to read it.
We sat back down and waited for another hour or so. We were called back for the interview with a young African American woman. She was very nice. After we were sworn in she asked about what my husband had understood from the DV pamphlet. She then asked how we met, if our daughter was ours - she then looked at our daughter's BC. She then asked what documents we needed to get married at the Estado Civil. She was confused about how I knew my husband for such a long time and I had to explain how I've lived in the DR for 4 years and that's how I met my husband. The only reason I'm back in the USA was to have our child. She complimented me on my Spanish and told us that my husband's visa was approved! She gave us a letter explaining what to do next.
We were approved on 3/31/15 and the visa status on CEAC went to Administrative Processing on 4/2/15, Issued on 4/7/15 and Ready for Pickup on 4/8/15. We went and picked up my husband's passport at the MBE in front of UTESA in Santiago. POE will be on April 15th in Miami.
