Medical : I had my medical scheduled at the Euroclinic 2 weeks prior to my interview date. It all went pretty fast and easy, all the necessary vaccinations were made there. Just had to go to the pharmacy and buy them. If you have health insurance which would cover those expenses (like IKA) make sure you'll bring your health booklet. X-Ray and blood tests are done and will be all send directly to the embassy.
Embassy: Interview was scheduled for 8:30am. We (my daughther on K2 and me) left the building at 12:45pm. So it all takes a few hours but didn't seem that long since they keep calling you for several things. And it took an hour to get through security check because they only take one or two persons in at the time and we were about 40 people waiting to get in. Most of them for temporary visa though and they were all scheduled for 8 or 8:20am. If you don't want to wait till last like we did, you should tell the security lady out there that you are there for immigrant visa. seems to be a separate name list. once inside you'll get a number and then just watch the monitor until your number comes up. for the immigrant visa they will call you mostly into the "booth". first to just leave your passport. then for several questions about how and when you have first met your fiance, how many times and when travelled to the US, has he ever come to visit you in Greece and when. the lady makes her notes and will probably also tell you if anything is missing. I had EVERYTHING as copies with me just in case. luckily because USCIS Texas obviously did not send the document from the RFE to the embassy ( another divorce certificate). so I had the copy of it and could give it directly to the lady. Otherwise I would have been in trouble. Note: I also have send an email to the embassy before the interview asking if they have received my greek police record for judicial use. Just didn't want any surprises and therefore delays.
so, third time they call you to one of the counters is for fingerprints. and then the fourth time was for the actual interview. which takes place in one of the booth again. and in our case lasted less than 10 min. very friendly everyone there. they also didn't like the background of the photos I had send but no problem. you can just get new ones right there on the same floor. there is a photographer. and the 2 photos cost 12€.
Obviously everything was to their satisfaction and all documents complete, so : APROOVED! It would take them 2-3 weeks to process the visa though they said. That is the part I don't understand. In other embassies it takes them only a few days and if. Never mind, more waiting.
