Left for Montreal on Monday, travelled to Toronto by bus, 4 hours. Stayed in a hotel and caught the train to Montreal on Tuesday. Got there no problems. Stayed at the Days Inn Downtown Montreal. They all speak english, friendly, funny and full of advice and directions. Huge room with sitting area and great water pressure in the shower. I didn't sleep very well since I was too thrilled that is was all happening finally.
Went to the consulate by 8 am my interview was for 9. Took a cab since it was so cold out. About 4 blocks from the days inn. 2 min cab ride. Gave the lady at the door, my passport, interview letter and DHL/ Loomis paperwork. Then she sent me to security, they took my coat, and paperwork and scanned me. Gave me back my coat and paperwork and said follow stairs to the elevator and go up. There was no line upjavascript:emoticon(' ') so i got a number, waited 5 mins, got out my medical, passport pics and police check and copies of everything since I sent all my originals. Was called up to window 12, we went over my address in Canada, in the USA and phone numbers and then he asked for my police check, my passport pics and then my medical. He opened my medical took out the papers and gave me back a disk for my future doctor in america. Then he went away for a few mins, came back, took my fingerprints and advised me to have a seat and wait for my number to be called again.
I was called up 15 min later, here are the questions he asked me:
How we met? how long we have been together, what my husband does for work, what I do for work, where we will be living, how I feel about FL. If I have ever been arrested? What my husband and I do for hobbies? Our goals once I get there? He never wanted the AOS or anything else because we sent in everything that we could to make this easier for them and for us. I offered my DS 260, My DS261, the AOS package, pictures of us. He had it all in front of him and showed it all to me and said I was very ready which was nice to see. I told him I was ready 418 days ago and I am ready. He said I was approved and that I could go. My passport will be mailed off to me within 2 weeks. Quick and simple. I didn't want to chance anything else happening or sudden questions,I smiled said thank you so very much, grabbed my stuff and ran to the elevator. So this all took just over and hour and back to the hotel room to relax and enjoy the feeling of it being done. Took the train and bus home on Thursday, checked the status of my case and it has been issued so everything is happening so fast. It has been worth the wait. javascript:emoticon(' ')
