As my name implies ..
Wife had the interview Feb 12. All went well until the last interviewer and very last topic- You need a new NBI clearance in your married name. But ma'am, the NBI clearance is only 6 months old and is in the maiden name like ALL other forms were requested to be so as to match the travel documents. Yes, but we need a new NBI in the married name .. just in case there was a problem. But you would accept an NBI clearance if it was 11 months old and in her married name? Yes. But we've only been married 3 months. Yes, but you need a new one in her married name .. OOOOOO K.
Off we went to the "releasing window". Asked the clerk if she could appeal this NBI thing. She was reluctant at first but then agreed. She came back with a big smile and I thought Great! Logic has prevailed. Wrong. She still had the smile as she said "No".
She said she'd email us a letter telling us what we needed to do and it would be in my inbox when I got home. Well, now 1 week later and no letter .. which according to their website was supposed to be given to us at the time we were at the window.
