The day has finally come when I can submit a review for the final step of the visa process!

My hubby landed in Montreal yesterday. He decided to get a 24 hour bus pass for $10. This was perfect because it allowed him to go all throughout the city for a set fee ( From airport to hotel, around town, and later on back to airport). He didn't need to use the bus to get to the US Embassy because it was close enough. I booked him a room at the Days Inn Montreal downtown for 70$(1 night) taxes included. He said it took him about six minutes of brisk walking to get to the embassy.

His interview was scheduled for 10:30 AM however he arrived around 7:45 AM. There was no line outside of the building. Then a security guard called him in and checked his passport and his courier papers. The security guard also told him that Thursdays are a special day for spousal visas not sure what that meant but anyways. He went down the stairs to a huge waiting room he didn't have to wait too long until they told him he could go into the elevator to go upstairs. When he got up there ge thought he would have to wait a long time because of all the people there but when he saw a receptionist Who gave him a number and it was #5 so really he didn't have to wait long at all because he was number five out of all the spousal visas. FYI there are vending machines in this waiting room for snacks and coffee/drinks.

So when called, he went to the first window and the lady asked for his passport, original birth certificate, courier papers, and medical (don't think there was anything else). He gave her everything except the medical which we did not have because that was sent from the doctor in BC directly to montreal.

Then he waited for a little bit longer and was called to see the immigration officer. He and the officer chatted a bit just a friendly chat. Then he asked him a few questions...
1. Why are you deciding to move the USA?
2. How did you and your wife meet?
3. It says here your wife is living with you in Canada? ( we explained I was in Canada for the past 4 1/2 years but that he had moved me back to the states a week ago because I am almost 8 months pregnant)
4. He asked to see the paperwork showing that I had been accepted to go back to university in the states as proof of reestablishing domicile.
5. He asked about my dad Who passed away last year.

And really that was about it. He took a minute or two more to finish up the paperwork. Then he handed my husband a letter and said welcome to the United States of America! The whole process was completed by 9:15 am although my husbands interview was actually scheduled for 10:30 AM.

It's been a long process I can't believe we finally came to this day! Last step will be him finally landing here!!

P.S. As everyone has mentioned before you can't bring anything into the embassy except for your paperwork. However the hotel informed him that pretty much all hotels will coat check your bag for you even if you've already checked out of the room as long as you were a customer of theirs and there's no additional charge.

Hopefully this review helps you all out!! I know I am definitely thankful for all the help and support that I've had on Visa journey! Thank you everyone!
