My interview was at 9 but I arrived at 6:30 and I was the 2nd person there.
At 7:30 we were put in a line and then split into 8am and 9am lines.
It began to rain pretty badly and we were handed umbrellas.
I was eventually moved into the early line but everything was very rushed and confusing, and staff seemed to be very poorly managed. Even though it was raining, we were asked to remove our documents out of protective casing and unfortunately my DS-160 got drenched. I thought this was stupid, and the staff outside were extremely rude to a French gentleman in front of me who didn't speak very good English.
I was then told that my appointment was wrong, and then a few moments later was told she found it, and was again rushed into another line. Next I was told to leave my umbrella in a bin (again rushed which was ridiculous considering I had to put my documents away to protect them from the rain.
Next I was sent through security, and then walked into the main building. There were 3 receptionists two of which looked like they didn't want to be there, and were dumbstruck when I handed them my wet documents. I felt stupid and embarrassed, even if it wasn't my fault.
Once you're in the embassy waiting room, things improve considerably. You're in a large room with a screen at the front. Every 10 seconds or so you hear a 'bing!' and a ticket number is shown on screen. I waited around 20 minutes for my first meeting.
I met a friendly British man who asked for my documents one by one. It was professional and took around 2 minutes.
I went back to the waiting room and thirty minutes later was called yet again for my interview. This time it was an American man who told my to raise my right hand and agree to an oath.
He then told me to scan my fingers and thumbs, and told me he was about to begin the official interview.

- What does she do for a living?
- What do you do for a living?
And then, 'you're now approved'. It was completely anti-climactic for an 8 month wait but I was so happy about the result.
Overall, I'd tell you to expect a brisk, somewhat rude welcome from the outside staff, a rushed security check and then you'll have a much warmer time from thereon.
