Review Topic: General Review

Requested and got Expedited Processing, so the Original I-130, IV Packet and Civil Document were all sent directly to the Singapore Embassy, read below some of the surprises at the 1st Interview.

Interview Results and Questions

Interview scheduled at 9:15am, wife arrived at 8:30am; Security wouldn’t let her in and told to wait outside until 8:45am.

Passed through Security; turned off cell-phone and charger, and handed them to Security, and waited in the waiting area to be called for her interview.

1st Interview started at 9:15am, interviewer (by Asian guy) asked for the following:

1. Interviewer asked for wife’s Passport

2. Interviewer asked for her Birth Certificate, wife handed over a “Black and White” Certified Copy of her BC with Signature and Seal. Original was submitted to the NVC as part of the Civil Document submission, and this should have been in the forwarded documents from the NVC. Interviewer got testy the wife, saying this isn’t what he wants in a Loud Voice, wife stated that this was already submitted to the NVC and should be in the file! Interviewer stated it wasn’t in the file. Good thing she had 2 Copies, so 1 lost Original Certified Copy in transit between the NVC and the Embassy!

3. Interviewer asked how we met and when, wife responded. Interviewer asked the wife to repeat the website twice in a Testy Manner.

4. Interviewer asked when was the first time we met in person, wife responded. Interviewer stated so soon with sarcasm attached in his statement!

5. Interviewer asked how many times we met before our marriage, wife stated 4 times, her 3 trips to the USA and my 1 trip to Singapore.

6. Interviewer asked wife on what type of Visa did she travel on, wife stated that she applied for and got her Visa under the Visa Waiver Program, Interviewer stated Testy Tone Again, that isn’t a Visa!

7. Interviewer asked on what date we got married, wife responded.

8. Interviewer asked what my Salary was for 2013, wife couldn’t remember the exact figure but known what my current income was! No further questions about this topic asked by the interviewer.

9. Interviewer asked what my job is. Wife responded and answer correctly
.

10. Interviewer asked for my W2’s, handing back my IRS W2 Tax Transcription from 2011 – 2013, saying they aren’t “Valid”?

11. Interviewer asked for my 1st Divorce Decree, saying it wasn’t in the file, we submitted this to the NVC, wife handed the interviewer a scanned Certified Copy with Seal Stamp at the bottom of the document. Another document missing in transit between the NVC and the Embassy!

12. Interviewer stated that these documents are needed, kind of threatens a Check List; wife wasn’t amused and was starting to get piss off at the interviewer, gave wife a blank check list, told to submit certified copy of divorce decree together with her passport at the Aramex Center. Interviewer Testy Again

Interviewer asked for documents of a continued relationship, wife wanted to give our current chat log, screen captures etc., Interviewer saw the 2 file-folders of information, he then asked for some pictures, interviewer chose some photos from our 1st year together and from our Wedding.

13. Wedding pictures, 1st year photos were already included in the I-130 packet which the interviewer had right in front of him!

14. 1st Interview Concluded at 9:40am, he then asked wife to take a seat and wait for another officer to call for second interview.

2nd Interview started at 10:15am
1. Consulate Officer (Caucasian officer) took wife’s Finger Prints.

2. Consulate Officer returned wife’s Original BC. Obviously this Consulate Officer re-checked the entire packet.

3. Wife explained to the Consulate Officer about the missing documents, Consulate Officer stated not to worry about it, and that the petition/file was complete.

4. Wife confirms with the Consulate Officer again she don’t need to retrieve the certified divorce decree, the Consulate Officer answer he do not need any other documents from us anymore.

5. Wife asked if she was approved, the Consulate Officer semi said that it would be in a couple of days but wouldn’t give a direct response to her question. Reason because the Embassy needs time for administrative process and to place the Visa inside her Passport.

6. Consulate Officer stated if they need anything from her, they would call her.

7. Conclusions, Passport and Finger Prints at the Embassy, some K1’s that were there were told that they will receive their passports back on 8 Jan 2015; we hope that’s our case too!

1st Interviewer could have been more professional, he did state that he reviewed the entire packet the day before, I don’t think he did, had he done so and looked inside the I-130 he would have seen my Divorce Decrees (Front Loaded Submission) to USCIS.

Since it’s common knowledge that the NVC losses documents and what he reviewed was only the AOS and Civil documents. Be aware to have Official Original Certified Copies of both your Birth Certificate and Divorce Decree’s from your Home Country, in hand at the Interview, just in case the NVC has lost or miss-placed them.

Things that were not asked at the interview were current, Paystubs, Bank statement and chat logs etc.

Wife did notice that there were a number of people who were not prepared for their Interviews, some of the documents that they were missing Children’s Birth Certificates, Bank Statements; one guy didn’t even have his Passport with him. Another guy produced a hand written note stating he is going to the USA on business, didn’t have a letter from his company stating this, just this hand written note, go figure what the Consulate Officer was thinking!
A young lady from Vietnam on a return K1 interview showing her Bank Statements to the Consulate Officer , the Consulate Officer asked her where the money came from, she stated if came from her fiancée, what the out-come was from this interview remains to be seen!

At any rate were glad this part is done, but won’t rest until the wife has her Passport back in her hand.
