Rating: | Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
It was a very pleasant experience.
We reached the embassy by 6:30 am, we (myself and my son) were asked to form line by 06:45, sent inside by 07:15, we were through the security clearance with in 10 min.
(Note: carry your documents in a transparent or see-through file)
We were sent inside the embassy building and were asked to form line for single and multiple applicants for tokens.
There was a long wait (around 30 min) before my token was displayed. Our token displayed at counter no 13 and an Indian took the medicals , ds260, our passport and arranged in them in order and asked us to wait.
After another 30 min our token was displayed again at counter no 2, there an Indian lady asked us few questions like;
What is your mother's maiden surname?
When and where did u marry u r husband?
What is your Ex husband's surname?
Asked about Permanent address to deliver the green card and she gave us a pamphlet (domestic violence) and asked us to go through the information.
After a long wait of 60 min, token number displayed at counter no 10 where an American CO (JOHN) took our final interview. He was a very pleasant guy with a smiling face. Me and my son felt good and relaxed. He took fingerprints of me and my son and asked us the following questions:
What's u r husband's name?
Where and what is his work?
Date and place of our marriage?
Names of my in-laws?
How long has your husband lived in the US?
When did u meet him? how did u communicate with him before marriage?
He asked my son, Whether he also liked him ? which grade is he studying? also asked him whether he is taller than his dad?
Asked me for marriage album and I flipped the pages so that he can view the pics clearly,
He asked who is who in the album?
How many members attended the marriage?
Asked us to tell my hubby dear to pay the visa fee for both of us and said
U R APPROVED and can receive passports with visa printed on them at HYD embassy.
