Just got back from interview. All went well -- approved.
My appointment was at 10:30, and I arrived a little before 9. There was only one person in front of me outside the consulate, and I got through security quickly. I walked straight to the elevator and must have been on the 19th floor by nine. The receptionist led me to an available counter right away, so I didn't have to wait at all. The person at the counter asked for passport pics, medical, birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificates, and claimed that they didn't have my birth certificate yet and needed to scan it. She also asked about the petitioner's birth certificate, which I hadn't been asked to bring. I said so, and she seemed satisfied with it. She also asked for the I-864, but by the time I had pulled it out, she had found the one I had submitted electronically and didn't want to see the original.
I was done at the counter at 9:20, and then had to wait almost an hour until I was called for the interview. Standard questions: since when have you been married? Where does your wife life? What does she do for a living? What do you do for a living? Trouble with the law? With entering the US? Approved!
I had to wait another ten minutes for them to scan the missing documents and was back out around 10:30. I was told I could pick up the passport is 1 to 1.5 weeks. Will update once I have it in hand.
