So I had my interview last Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 7:30 am. Before I had my interview, I did a lot of research and always checked the embassy reviews on this site. This site is really very helpful. I just want to thank all the VJ Members here who have been helping us answering all our questions.
So, here is my experience... I got there at the USEM around 7:00 am. There was no more line so the guard just let me get inside right away. After I got inside, I went to the first counter before the waiting area. They asked me to give them my DS-160 Confirmation page, Passport, and Interview Confirmation page. After that, they gave me a number which I will be using for the whole process. They also gave me back my passport which they put inside a plastic with a lock. Then I went to the waiting area. Make sure you always look at the board where the numbers will flash because they will flash the numbers randomly, not in orders. Around 8:00 am, they let us get inside. So I waited inside for my number to be flashed on the board. Around 9:30 am, my number finally flashed. So I went to window 42(as far as I remember. lol) and an American guy asked for my name, birthday and asked me to have my finger prints then after that, he told me to sit down and wait for my number to flash on the board again. Around 10:10 am, my number flashed again and I went to window 57(as far as I remember. lol) where I had my pre-screening. A Filipino guy asked for my birth certificate, NBI (green form), Cenomar, BPI Receipt, Form 1040A (2013) of my fiance and his w2(2013), and my passport. And he asked me some questions like: What's the name of my fiance, What is his job, Am I single. I think these are all the questions asked. Then since there was a problem with my DS-160, (we used my old passport number because I just got my new passport yesterday because I had to renew it because there was a damage in it.) the Filipino Consul told me to re-schedule my interview again but then I told him that I am still from Cebu and my flight was already booked. So he gave me a chance, he let me went out of the USEM and find a cafe to edit my DS-160. He said he will just open my DS-160 in his computer so he can check if it has changed already. He gave me back my passport and gave me a green paper to be given to window 39 when I get back. So after I was able to edit my DS-160, I went to window 39 and gave that green paper and after 5 minutes, I was called to go back to window 57 again with the same guy and he told me it is ok now and I gave him back my passport and he told me to sit down and wait for my number to flash again, so I sat down again and wait for my final interview.
Around 11:45, my number flashed and I went to window 62 and I was interviewed by a lady American Consul. Here are the questions asked:
1. How do your fiance's friends call him?
2. How does your fiance go to work? Does he drive his own car?
3. What is his car and what color is it?
4. What did your fiance tell you about the place where he lives?
5. How many times did your fiance visit you?
6. When was the last time you see each other in person?
7. How was the engagement? Was there a big party or a fancy proposal?
She asked me these questions while looking at our pictures.
I think these are all the questions asked After that, she told me that she has everything she needs from me. Then I asked if I am approved, then she told me, "Yes, everything looks good here, you can have a seat and wait for your number to be called for one more interview". So I sat down then waited for my number. After 5 minutes, my name was called to window 68. So a Filipino lady asked me "So the delivery address is in Cebu?" then I said "Yes mam". Then she asked if I am single, then I said yes. Then after that she said "Ok. You can go home now and wait for you visa to be delivered". And I said thank you mam with a very big smile on my face. I left the embassy with a smile on my face. I thank God for hearing our prayers.
TIPS FOR THE INTERVIEW: Be confident, be polite, and smile As long as you know all about your fiance, there will be no problems. Make sure you have all the documents needed and you arrange them properly. And lastly and most importantly, DON'T FORGET TO PRAY TO GOD! ALWAYS PRAY TO GOD and HE will be with you and guide you throughout the whole process. To God be the Glory!!!
