Got there around 6 for our 6:45 am appt. Tons of people already there but like everyone said before it doesn't matter because they sort the line anyway. We went in and thru security. We had not only a bag full of supporting documentation but a stroller for the baby and all his necessities. We got in and all the seats filled up VERY QUICKLY. dress code seems to be flexible as we saw people in all kinds of outfits. Apparently my dress was too business attire because I got tons of questions from people who thought I worked at the consulate. Ladies wear flats it's A TON OF WAITING AND NOT enough seating.
Bathrooms are clean n close.
It gets noisy so listen for your numbers.
Also, I'm not sure if it's cuz I'm from NY but I didn't find it cold at all in there.
We got called the first time for paper collecting. Then sent to pay the fee (now 105$ not $80) then waited. Called again for fingerprints. Waited. Then finally the interview!!
It was a clean cut American guy. Very professional, direct, but nice. He asked us if we spoke wh language and proceeded.
Questions I remember:
How did we meet
Our bdays
What my job is and who I work for
Who he lives w and in what house or apt
Where his,ex wife lives
How many kids we each have and if our baby is our blood child
How was the birth
When did I arrive in DR
If I have family in DR
Honestly nothing was anything difficult or what one wouldn't know of their spouse. We only were asked for pictures , no other proof. Then he said VISA APROVADA and slipped that lovely green ticket to us.
