Long story short: It was nice and easy.

My interview was scheduled for 8.30 AM on September 2, 2014.
We got there at around 7.30. There were a few people already waiting.
The security guy let us in at about 7.45. We walked in, I told the secy people that my husband was a citizen and he was gonna join me at the interview. Hubby only had to show his passport. No problems here. ***FYI*** We did email the embassy about a week earlier whether it would be possible for my husband to join me at the interview. The embassy's response was positive.
Then, there was yet another door, where again we had to wait to be let in.
10 minutes later, at 8 o'clock, the door was opened and we were invited in. Right there I had to show the passport pickup confirmation page. After that, we were asked to go through yet another door, which turned out to be the document intake/biometrics/waiting room/interview room.
The document intake part was nothing to write home about. Although I was asked for my original birth certificate, despite the fact that I did submit it to NVC with my IV package. I did have one with me so it was not a problem.
Then was the fingerprinting part.
I was done with all that at 8.40.
There were about 7 or 8 other people in the waiting room. At 9.05 my number was called. I was first (yay!) (they do not call by the order of the token numbers)
We walked up to the window together, but the CO asked my husband to wait in the waiting room. The interviews are conducted in some sort of a nook, really, so I could see him in the reflexion the whole time! (he was reading a newspaper...or rather just pretending as he told me later hah)
The CO said that he reviewed my case, that all looked great and he would just ask me a few questions. I then looked at the file and saw a big, fat 'approved' stamp on it!
The first question he asked me was: "So I see you had a tourist visa before, is that right?". I think it was supposed to be a tricky question and I never had a B2 visa in my life. I told him that was incorrect and that I only had J1 visas (4). He asked for my old passport.
The CO asked quite a few questions about my previous US stays. (The reason for it was that I had a "D/S" situation, I guess). At the end I told him I had a copy of my last I-94 and just handed it to him. The CO kept it at the end. The "D/S" situation was not even brought up.
He then proceeded to easier questions:
"How old are your husband's kids", "How have you meet", "What would you like to do in the US", "When are you planning on flying to the US", "Where does your husband work".
Easy. I even threw in a few tiny jokes here and there hah.
And that was it. The CO said "OK, I am going to keep your passport and you will receive it back together with your visa in 3-4 business days".
I started tearing up and he said "Umm, were you concerned you would not get a visa?'
To which I replied : "No, no! I am just so happy!!"
He was very nice and smiling the whole time. Awesome guy, really!
9.20 am we were out of there and on the way back to the hotel to start celebrating! (with one of our awesome VJers at that! such a super cool girl! )
I had my visa in hand 3 days later.
