Turned up early at 7.15 to drop my belongings in at Goulds Pharmacy, and then headed round the corner to be greeted by a large queue. Shortly before 7.30 they started checking people in the queue for the letter and DS-160. Once they see you have everything in order they send you to join queue number two which is the queue to get in. This takes a long time, but they make you put metallic objects in a clear plastic back and your coats etc go through the x-ray machine. It was at this point I realised you can actually take your phone in, just not a laptop. So I could have saved myself some money!

When in, the receptionist ladies check your letter and put a sticker on it with you number. I got called up within 20 mins to one of the counters. They check you have everything there, ask some simple questions and then tell you to sit back down and be called for interview.

After 20-40 mins I was called up. To my surprise, the interview is conducted at a window. I envisioned a interrogation room so I was relieved! The asked simple questions such as, "When did you meet?", "How did you meet?", "When did she move back to America?", "How many times have you seen her since she's been back in America?", "Have you met her family?", "What does she do for a living and how much does she earn?". Then after these simple questions, I had to swear on oath (felt really weird as we don't do that in the UK), he told me everything was in order, and he congratulated me, saying my visa has been approved. Appointment at 8am, out by 9am!
