My husband is LPR and filed for me in may 2013. We got noa2 in december and cas completed in march and interview was scheduled for 6th may at 7:30am.Arrived at the diplomatic shuttle services at 6:45. There was a moderate line already to get tickets! There was just one regular ticket for all (rs 200) for round trip. They checked my passport and interview letter before giving the ticket. There are lockboxes there for u to drop ur cellphones and other electronics. Then i got in a long line, separate for males and females! To get into the shuttle waiting area there was a security check where they made sure i wasnt carrying cell phone or any electronic. Then there was a waiting area and a lot of people were already sitting there a man was standing there asked me which embassy i am going to and if i was there along then he told me to sit in third row with a few ladies. When shuttles arrived around 7am he made ppl get up and go row by row so try to get seated in front. I got in the first shuttle. And in less than 10 mins reached diplomatic enclave. We got out and were instructed to form two lines for immigrant and non immigrant! I was last in immigrant line from first shuttle. The guard checked interview letters and kept sending forward people who had interviews scheduled early some people who arrived early but had interview later were told to sit back on bench . I went ahead to et in immigrant line! A guard was checking passport anf IL and issuing token numbers, non immigrant numbers started with 7 and immigrant visa tokens started with 5! I was 15th in immigrant que. After being issued token i was instructed to go inside! There is a scanner belt for ur bag and security officials check ur passport before sending you in waiting area. Everything is organized and in a simple sequence the staff was helpful friendly and there was no confusion. I sat in waiting area where guard was calling token numbers and instructing which room to go to for biometrics. I was called after 7:30 in the biometrics room 5-10 people were already sitting and a pakistani guy was helping do fingerprints and a chinese
Lady was behind glass checking info on computer and taking the 2x2 photograph. Had to wait for another 10minutes before i was called for fingerprints. After that i wAs given a paper with instructions to pay $165 fee and info on whete to collect passport from abd told to go to window 5 ! I went out anf into the waiting area with all the windows whefe COs were taking interviews. I sat down and waited for my token number to be called. In less than 10mimutes i was called to window 2 where a pakistani guy was sitting with my file and all original documents he took my medical and asked where i came from. He confirmd my contact number and checked all my do uments . He asked my choice of language , i chose english. He was friendly and polite. He told me to sit and wait to be cLled for final interview. I went back and it was another small wait hardly 10 minutes before my token number wAs called to counter 8. I went there and a caucasian male was reading my case on computer . I greeted him and he looked up smiled and said salam! I responded he asked how i was doing and then started interview. He asked what my parents do for living. Then asked about my previous marriage. He was more interested in my past marriage and tried to be convinced that i didnt marry my current husband for greencArd he asked a lot of questions trying to corner me and constantly had a confused unconvinced expression? But i answered hknestly and confidently to every question without being intimidated by his expressions! My interview lasted 15-20 minutes and not once did he give me a positive expression ! It didnt waver my confidence though because i didnt lie about anything. Finally few questions about my husband what he does for living how long we lived together and where we stayed. He asked if j had any weddig photos i hadnt taken whole album jus selected bunch. I showed him
My other pictures with him as well. He asked if we had our valima and we hadnt so i said no to that ad well. He said let me take down some notes and he spent a long time typing a huge note. Finally to my greatest surprise he said what I was least expecting him to say after the interview he took. Congratulations! I am approving your visa. You will receive your passport in 7-10 days. Good luck with ur career in US and smiled . I thanked him and he gave me a pamphlet that summarizes my rights in US and didnt give me any sheet etc returned all my original documents and kept my passport. He said you can go now. I was out at 9:15.
The COs try to corner u with surprise questions and beat you around bush if they think u r lying . If you sre honest you will never be cornered and have a wAy out of every question. So that is what happened with me. Truth got me success. So be honest because they will catch lies. My status on ceac is administrativ processing. Waiting for it to be issued.
I wish everyone going through this journey the best of luck and i have just one suggestion... Be honest and Allah will help you inshAllah.
Update: after one day the status changed to "Issued" on ceac alhamdulillah!
