First, we arrived about ten minutes late because we could not find parking. We should have done our research better, but still no harm done.

When we arrived, we placed our interview notice on the desk and sat down. ABout 15 minutes later, the interviewer called us into our office. He asked us to stand and raise our right hands. When we did that, he asked us to swear to tell the truth, which we did. Then he told us to sit down.

He asked for our passports. I looked through the envelope where we had placed our paperwork and found my passport, but could not find my wife's passport. We started to panic and looked around the room. Then we were going to go back out to look, but he told us not to worry and that he will have security look around the building for us. When he brought security, i remebered that I had taken out the passport at the entrance to the building in case they needed it and placed it in my pocket. When i felt my pocket, there was her passport and our day and panic were saved.

After that tense moment, the interviewer asked my wife if the address was current and then flipped thorugh the paperwork. He then verfied the questions on the application which were yes/no(are you involved with a terroist group?, Were you part of the Communist party, did you ever involve in prostitution, etc.).

He then asked her about the weather in India and reminisced about a friend of his describing the heat. He then said our case was easy. He then went to the computer and wrote an approval letter and stamped our file as approved. HE said welcome to America and gave my wife the letter.

he cautioned us about leaving the country before the greencard comes or she would be detained at the POE for some time till they verified her info. If we need to leave emergently then we will need to get an infopass appointment.

I asked about the I551 stamp, but he said that it was not necessary as she would get her greencard soon. They dont routinely give them to you unless you need to leave the country emergently.

We then thanked him and he walked us out of the office.
