The whole process was very smooth. I spoke with two ladies. The first one got the papers I had been asked to bring with me and asked me some questions. She also gave me back my x-ray and told me that I should bring it with me at the POE. The conversation was in Greek. Then I had to wait for about two hours before I talked to the consul. She asked me if I speak English, I said yes, and then she had me swear that the papers I submitted and the information I was about to give was truthful, according to my knowledge. Then, she took my fingerprints and asked me more or less the same questions as the first lady, wanting to know more details. The questions were:
- How did we first meet
- When and how we met in person. If I stayed at his place and if it felt somehow strange to me.
- How many times I have been in the US and for how long.
- About our previous marriages and divorces
- If I have kids. If he has kids. How old are they. If I have met them, when and how is our relationship. If they spend a lot of time with us.
- When did we get engaged and how did he propose. If he gave me the ring right away or later and if we picked it up together or not.
Then, she said that everything seemed right with our case and my visa was approved! They informed me that I would get it in about 10 days and that they would call me to let me know. They also advised, that I shouldn't book a ticket before they call me...to be on the safe side.
I would like to say that people in the Embassy of Athens are very polite, friendly and understand the pressure that we, applicants, are under.
