My wife and I just had our interview today at the San Diego Office (Edward J Schwartz Federal Building) in Downtown. It was such a pleasant experience We arrived at exactly 9:15 AM (our appointment time) and we probably only waited 5-10 min after we checked in. Our interviewer, Roy, apologized for the delay although it really wasn't much, and he was so friendly, polite and welcoming. We went over to his office where we were sworn in. He collected some basic information from wife (the beneficiary) such as the EAD card, Social Security, California ID, as we talked and joked around. He asked her a few questions if she had committed any crimes before or after entering (a lot of the same stuff that is on the I-485 form). He then proceeded to ask us about how we met and our story which we had no problem telling him from start to finish. He took a lot of notes. We showed him our wedding photos from the downtown courthouse among others. He approved us right away and went on to explain to us that we would have our Green Card in 7-10 days (after which we would have to destroy our EAD card). He also told us that it would take 3 years from today for my wife to be eligible for US citizenship, after which she can apply for her parents and/or siblings. We would have to renew the Green Card online within 2 years (about 22 months from today) so that it doesn't expire. All-in-all it was a very smooth process and delightful experience thanks to Roy :D
