This is all second-hand information which I am trying to remember a few days after the fact, but, I believe everything is accurate.
He had his appointment for 8:00am on December 19, 2013. About 15 minutes beforehand, outside the embassy, the officers divided the lines into immigrant and non immigrant. DH said that everything was very orderly and polite in the cueing up. There also weren't that many people in the embassy that day.... possibly around 100.
Anyway, he was second in line. I believe he said that when he entered, and went to the first window and they gave him back all the original papers we submitted to NVC/USCIS. And I also believe they scanned his fingerprints. That officer he said may have been Chinese.
Went to the second window. The lady, who may have been from Eastern Europe and was very nice asked him only 3 or 4 questions. He also volunteered information. When/how did you meet? Where did you marry? Is she working? And, why isn't she working?
She told him that he was approved but, he didn't listen to the rest because he was so happy/excited, so, I guess he missed some information. She handed him a paper on immigrant rights and something else.
He said that the interview itself took about 10 minutes and his total time inside the embassy was 30 minutes.
