Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband's interview time was at 7:30am. He arrived at the embassy at 6:45am and he didn't finish until 10:30am. But the long wait was worth it, his visa was approved.

The officer interviewing my husband was very nice and considerate. In a very caring tone the first thing he said to my husband was to sit down and relax, he was just going to ask him a few questions. The interview only lasted about 15 minutes.

Things to note... there is not a DHL branch within the Barbados embassy anymore, you have to drive across town to reach it. Also, there is no real area for people to sit while waiting for their family/friends to finish interviewing. There are two wooden benches that you can sit on outside of the embassy's entrance, next to the Taxi stand, but they are uncovered, meaning that if it rains you have to run for shelter under the taxi stand carport.

If you're planning to accompany your spouse to the interview and wait on him/her, make sure to bring an umbrella just in case it rains, and a book or magazine or game to keep yourself busy during the long wait!
