Review Topic: K1 Visa

I went to the embassy on Tuesday October 8, 2013 for my interview. After submitting all my docs, i was asked to pay the K1 visa fee of $240 (528 Ghana Cedis) to the cashier. Unfortunately, the counting machine wouldn't function after 5hrs of waiting. I was therefore given a new appointment for Wednesday October 9. I got to the embassy at 7.20am on the Wednesday.
Once the cashier opened her window, i paid my visa fee. She was very apologetic for what happened the previous day with the counting machine. After having paid the visa fee, i went to take my finger prints. I retired back to my sit and started observing with keen interest what was happening with those having their interviews. I noticed that everybody who went to Window 5 seem to be denied though not all of them but the majority. Some passed by sobbing and others with very red eyes with tears almost flowing. I became more than nervous at this instance. Just when i was praying that i shouldnt be called to Window 5, i heard my name to come to Window 5. My heart jumped. Window 5???
To my total amazement, the lady Consular Officer at Window 5 was more than nice to me. She was very hospitable and cheerful. She also apologised to me for the Consulate not being able to have conducted my interview the previous day. I now became more than confident. She then asked me to sign and write my fiancee's full name on the DS-156K form infront of her. These were the questions she asked me:
1. How are you?
2. How did you meet your fiancee?
3. What does your family think of her?
4. When did she visit you and for how long?
5. When did she leave for the US?
6. What did both of you do for the days she spent here?
7. Do you have a daughter?
8. What's her name and how old is she?
9. You stated on the form that she will follow you later?
After these questions, she gave me back all the Whatsapp chats, FB chats, photos, phone records, tax transcripts, pay stubs, etc. The interview was so quick that it didn't last more than 5mins. I guess apparently, it was the orderly way with which i arranged my docs. The CO said " I believe your relationship is genuine. Congratulations and report at the embassy on Friday at 7.30am for your visa. She then gave me the blue visa receipt paper.
I WAS SPEECHLESS!!!
Thank you all VJ members for your prayers and support. My K1 journey has been smooth and flawless. Glory be to God.

NB:
My fiancee has only visited me once in our over 2yrs relationship and spent just 7 days with me. It was no problem at all. So if yours has visited just once and the duration wasn't long, it doesn't matter. All that matters is your evidence.
