Arrived outside the embassy around 6.40am and there was already a few people sitting on the benches outside the embassy.around 7am people started edging their way to the visa entrance .at 7.30am the grumpy English women everyone talks about arrived outside shouting to get everyone in line and telling people who are not going in the embassy to get out the line .I was the third in line and the first k1 visa in line .got into the embassy at 7.38am .I didn't have a watch on me but it must be around 8am I was called to the first window.I was pleased to see the smiley African American lady I've read so many good things about.she took all my documents whilst making small talk and when she came to take my financial support papers she realized my fiance was in the air force.she then told me she was in the air force for 22years and retired at mildenhall which was my finances last base before returning to the states.we then spent a few minutes talking about mildenhall, the air force and my finances next base in colarado springs.she then wished me luck and I sat back down to wait to be called again.I don't know exactly how long I was waiting but it didn't feel longer than ten mintues.I was greeted by a friendly looking guy who made me do the oath then sign my name and print my finances name on the forms ,then went on to ask me:
How did you meet your fiance
What firstly made him stand out to you
Is he in the army or air force
What rank is he
what's his next base.when I told him colarado springs he told me that's where he is from and how beautiful it is and how ill love it
He then said I can tell you your visa was approved congratulations on your engagement.
All in all I was in and back at Starbucks just down the street where my friend was waiting with my phone within a hour !!
