I had my F2A visa interview at Montreal. I want to share some important things to you guys,
First, Prepare your documents. Collect all documents requested by NVC, mentioned in interview letter. If you have any doubt about any document, just call NVC or review visa journey comments by members.
Complete your Medical in time.
register for the DHL/ Loomis courier. you have to bring the confirmation number with you in interview,
book an hotel near by US consulate Montreal.
Ex. Hotel Y montreal ( cheapest 60 CAD for a single bed)
Arrive earlier at consulate, take a cofee and feel fresh and ready for the interview,
US consulate, Montreal staff is so friendly and nice, Even security officers are also very kind.
Consulate doors will be open around 7.00 am depends on working hours, sometime they open late.
1) you have to pass through the security procedure, time: 10 minutes
2) you will have to check in the Main floor located at the 19th floor of the building. Get the number and wait for your number to be called.
3) when your number be called, go to the window and officer will ask you for the documents, provide all documents he/she asked for. get your fingerprint done here as well, once your documents and fingerprint done, you will be asked to seat and wait for the final call for the interview. Time: 10 to 25 minutes
4) After few minutes, you will be called for the interview, stay calm and Happy, to be nervous is obvious but you are doing nothing wrong so keep your self positive, Most of all interview officers are very friendly and kind, they will ask you some sweet questions such as when did you meet your spouse first time, etc, ( for me it was sweet one)
than, she will check the required documents and if all good, officer will make a note tho his or her computer and will give you welcome letter and instruction for the further step,
Done.
