Manila, Philippines Review on October 6, 2013:

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Well, I know this is a bit late, but I figured leaving a review will help others. Our K1 was approved July 22, 2013.

My then fiance flew to the Philippines a week before the interview to accompany me, more so because I was a nervous wreck. He had already booked our flight for August 1 and we were still unsure if I would be able to go back with him or not.

Our schedule was 7:30am and we were there at about 6-6:30 am. There was already a long line. There would be a lot of vendors in the area, but just to be sure, do ask the uniformed personnel. (In our case, we asked the guard where the line for the K1 was.)

Personnel will ask for your requirements and look at them, provide you queue numbers but I'll skip right ahead to the interviews part. It probably took two hours from when we got to the embassy, and we finally got to the first interview. He was a middle-aged America who took fingerprints and just looked at my files and ask us how we were doing. And everything went well. More waiting afterwards, until we got our second interview. She was a Filipina and asked us questions like how we met, asked us to show our pictures together, who was our joint sponsor (it was his mom). And then we were told to sit down until finally we were called to have our last interview. She was an American and she was very nice. She asked questions about us, how we met, where we would be living (in our case it was with his family), and we had a few laughs too. And after a few minutes she said, "You're approved!" We couldn't be any happier. We then went ahead and opted for a Visa Delivery picked up at SM Southmall. Luckily enough, we got my passport with the visa four or five days before our flight.
