My interview was 9/19 at 1330--I arrived about 15 minutes early. At exactly 1330, security guards came and opened the doors to the embassy for appointments. Do NOT bring cell phones or electronic equipment--this will delay your interview.

I carried all of our documents in a backpack, so my bag was searched and I went through something like airport security before being seated in the waiting room. I was initially called to Window #5, where a very encouraging, polite, and friendly woman asked for my passport, passport photos, the affidavit of support and birth certificate. She asked me about my fiance's children--how many, their ages, and then asked that I sit in the waiting area again.

After a short wait (maybe ten minutes), I was called to Window #6. The man there, who was also very friendly, courteous, and supportive, asked that I swear that the information we'd provided was true, and I signed the documents that had been required be sent ahead of the interview. He asked me the same questions about my fiance's children, along with inquiring about how they felt about the upcoming wedding. He also asked when I'd met my fiance, and when we'd met in person the first time.

No one asked to see any proof of relationship or for any additional documents. Also, please note, the letter I received from the embassy said to bring 7.70 Euros in stamps. However, this was an OLD letter and they no longer want stamps. Bring an A5 envelope with a special stamp on it for registered mail (the cost is 8.20 with the envelope).

The whole interview took approximately 34-40 minutes. Everyone was VERY nice and extremely considerate. We're expecting my K1 Visa as early as tomorrow, but more likely during the first part of next week.

Also, do not take photos of the embassy.
