Review Topic: K1 Visa

Let me start with a run down of how the day went:

16/09/2013

07:45 arrive at the embassy

08:05 I make my way inside after passing though the security

08:20 Called up to first window and have a short talk with the gentleman there and we process the paper work.

08:30 sit back down in the waiting area and grab myself a can of Mountain Dew

08:40 Get called up to the second window, have a lovely chat with the embassy staff member about how I met my fiancee

08:50 Visa approved, grab another Mountain Dew for the road and make my way home.

I arrived a bit earlier than I needed to but this was no problem there was already a line from the people who were booked to be there for 8:00 I stood in the queue. I stood in the left queue which led up to the podium they checked my name and directed me to the queue for the scanner.

((Make sure you have your appointment letter a DS-160 isn't needed on a K1 visa but you need the appointment letter.))

The first Interview was very pleasant the man on the other side of the window was very polite and in a good mood (especially for eight in the morning). I spoke with him had my fingerprints scanned and handed all my supporting documents then was told to take a seat and they would call me again,

I was expecting this to be a long wait. Possibly an hour. To my surprise i was called up in about 10/15 minutes where I spoke to a very friendly lady who seemed to be genuinely interested in my fiancee and myself. I was only asked 3 Direct questions.

How did we meet?

What was it like when we first met in person?

Do you get along with her family?

((I was asked a couple of extra questions but these were more like a back and forth conversation so these would be totally dependent on your own answers.))

At the end she complemented my Fiancee and myself on the presentation of our files and that our efforts were greatly appreciated (Thanks VJ for the advice on how to present it all!) and that we couldn't ave made it easier for them. The didn't even ask to look at any of the evidence I brought with me.

I know before my interview i was stressing out over everything but seriously, don't worry. The staff at the London embassy were all really helpful and friendly to talk to even when i walked out the wrong door on my way out
