Consulate / USCIS Member Review #12760

Vancouver, Canada Review on September 12, 2013:

His karma

I stayed in Surrey so I could get the medical and pick up results without a lot of extra driving. Dr. Cheema was great, friendly and quite chatty. That was the easiest part of the whole trip.

I left the Hotel in Surrey at 8:30, figuring an hour and a half should be more than enough time to get to the Consulate for 10. Big mistake. There was an accident on the Fraser bridge which took an hour to get past. I got to the consulate over an hour late, had to find parking and get through security. They waved me right through, I went through the checks then up to the 20th floor. Went to window B, she took all my papers and medical and gave me a number and told me to wait for it to come up a second time. That took about 30 minutes. I went to the window when my number was called, He took my papers and told me to sit while he went through my file. A few times, he held up a page that was stamped approved, so I think at that point it was already approved. HE called me up, took my fingerprints and asked a few questions. He asked how often we had seen each other then how often we talk. I told him I had Skype and text records, but he said that was fine. He typed in a few things, handed back a few original documents then smiled and said everything was approved. After the drive, and being late and everything I cried. HE smiled and waited for me to get it together then directed me back to Window B. There she gave me directions on crossing the border and everything and that was it. Other than the drive, Relatively quick and painless.

So now it is on to the border crossing, moving my belongings and getting to the waiting arms of my fiancé.
